"A+" for Deutsche Rück Group
For the sixth time running, Standard & Poor's has given Düsseldorf-based Deutsche Rückversicherung AG a pleasing rating. Together with its subsidiary, DR Swiss, Deutsche Rückversicherung Schweiz AG, it received the grade "A+". S&P's has affirmed the Group's very strong financial capacity.
The rating agency's reasons for the good result were said to be, inter alia, the parent company's strong competitive position within the group of public-law insurers. It also underscores the very strong capitalisation as a special strength. The same is true of risk management and the strategy of focusing on selected, profitable and long-term customer relations.
The Group, it was said, had made good progress in extending its business to include customers outside the public-law domain. At the end of the 2008 financial year, 40% of net premiums were already being generated by this business field. S&P's expects this trend to continue.
